Here
are some of our recent projects.
A consumer products company had allowed its various brand divisions to develop websites with little planning or cohesion. This company retained us to design a cohesive corporate web publishing strategy. We wrote a web design guide true to the corporate brand as well as individual product brands and incorporating best practices for website usability and search engine placement optimization. We worked closely with the marketing departments to specify requirements, and then coordinated design and development among several outsourced design agencies. We negotiated a consolidated hosting contract, and implemented a performance monitoring system. As an immediate result of our work, the flagship website doubled its traffic within the few months of our assignment.
A healthcare company retained us to design and develop a custom content management system for their intranet. The system we built stores content as XML and it includes role-based security, workflow routing, user administration, and a full-text search engine. We also built interfaces to the corporate data warehouse and to external ordering and billing systems.
A worldwide university consortium engaged us to build a geospatial research system, for use by history and archaeology scholars who collect and maintain geospatial and historical data. With this system, a scholar can search multiple databases on servers in institutions around the world. The system transforms and combines the data and presents it to the user in a browser-based map display.
A pharmaceuticals manufacturer engaged us to design and build a business intelligence system to monitor their consumer marketing efforts. In the first phase of our work, we analyzed and documented the business systems in use throughout the company and its vendors. Then we designed a data model, built a data warehouse, and a implemented a business intelligence reporting system. This system allowed the client to better understand the effectiveness of its programs and therefore better leverage its CRM spending.
A B2B distributor engaged us to design and build and eCommerce website. We analyzed their product line and then designed an online catalog with an innovative product search engine, along with a shopping cart and a secure ordering system.
A
non-profit organization engaged us to design and
build a community website. We built into the site a
content management system that allows users to login
and add community news items, upload photos, and maintain
the events calendar.
A hospital equipment manufacturer engaged us to design and build a system to allow a Laboratory Information System to control multiple diagnostic instruments. After analyzing a dozen instruments, we designed a common interface language, a communications protocol, and a set of customizeable, installable drivers. This system allowed the client to automate testing procedures, improving accuracy and efficiency.
A big-four consulting firm retained us to add support for internationalization and localization to a software product sold to Fortune 500 companies. Our work included programming of the user-interface and adding support for multi-byte character sets. As a result of this upgrade, the firm was able to open new markets for this product overseas.
A market research firm engaged us to develop a census data analysis software tool. The tools allows marketing professionals to analyze census data by geographic and demographic criteria, for advertising campaigns, site assignment and evaluation, and territory division.
The country's largest major league baseball player agent commissioned us to design and implement a statistical analysis and reporting package. This system allows the agency to prepare for contract negotiations and arbitration hearings by demonstrating statistical analyses of their clients' performance.
The US Army engaged us to develop a hypertext editor for ModSim programmers. This product includes a source code analyzer and browser for the ModSim language. ModSim is an object-oriented graphic simulation language used for battle simulations.
An equipment leasing company engaged us to design and implement an inventory system that tracks equipment on lease and in warehouses, tying together databases in Chicago and London. With this system the client was able to reduce warehousing costs and unnecessary purchases.
